4 Ways to Show Appreciation for Your Fellow Healthcare Workers

This year has taken a huge toll for our communities, and at the front lines are healthcare workers who help support everyone facing these issues each day. A recent USA Today article reported a Center for Disease Control tally of over 400,000 cases of coronavirus and more than 1400 deaths among healthcare workers nation-wide. Yet, they continue to give their all to do what they can to alleviate the suffering of others. We all appreciate their efforts, and there are some simple things that can be done to show our thanks.

Make work easier

Shifts are long, and work is hard. Hand cream, to alleviate dry skin from constant washing and applying hand sanitizer, is welcome. Compression socks can improve blood circulation and help alleviate pain and soreness from the long hours they spend on their feet.

Make time off more enjoyable

If you can provide a homemade meal or give a gift certificate for a food delivery service, time off can be maximized. And what coffee drinker wouldn’t love a Starbucks gift card?

Give a Certificate of Perseverance in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic

This certificate of appreciation pays tribute to healthcare workers around the world who are serving during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mars 2020 Perseverance rover team affixed an aluminum plate to the rover to show their appreciation and to honor their service. This certificate features an image of the metal plate on the rover. Download and print it for a healthcare worker you know who persevered during the pandemic.

Let them know they are appreciated

Healthcare workers are the unsung heroes in the fight against the deadly pandemic we are facing.

Sometimes it’s the little things that matter most. Saying “thanks” like was done in our recent Operation Essential Worker campaign.

These are just a few ways to give back to these esteemed workers who put their lives at risk for us everyday. If you feel like making a contribution to healthcare workers in our community, please let us know.
